Continuing with the primary texts of the Persian Naṣı̇̄ḥatnāmeh (“Mirror for Princes” literature), IRAM Istanbul is announcing a workshop on Saʿdı̇̄ and political thought. In this workshop, Arash Khorashadi will focus on a variety of moral and political topics in the literary oeuvre of Saʿdı̇̄, one of the finest writers in classical Persian. The primary texts that will be focused on include an anthology of prose (Gulistān, Naṣı̇̄ḥat al-mulǖk, and Taqrı̇̄rāt-ı Thalātheh) as well as poetry (Bustān).
This four-week online workshop will start on November 17th and will end on December 8th. The registered participants may attend each of the two-hours sessions via Zoom. The online meetings are scheduled for Tuesdays, from 18.00 to 20.00, and the spoken language of the instruction is Farsi. The registered participants will receive the workshop materials (including the primary texts with Turkish/English translations) by email. The applications will be accepted between November 11th to November 15th. The application results will be announced via email on November 16th.
